Anyone who has tried to ride a Alaia knows it ain’t easy. Tom Wegener and GSI have came out with a new board called the Tuna and it is part of the Seaglass project. Will it be the missing link between modern and ancient surfing, or a fad, or just something do do when the waves suck? At any rate it looks fun.

Tom Wegener has been shaping and surfing for a long time. And more importantly, he is a thinker and surf historian. Based in Noosa Australia, Tom has been studying ancient Hawaiian shapes and design for decades and has discovered not only something we will all benefit from, but he is bringing us a world of finless design concepts that are destined to change the face of modern surfing.
Through his years of contemplation, testing and design, Tom has recognised that the genius of efficient surfboard design was discovered hundreds of years ago. Tom’s work is taking us back to the finless Alaia and opening the door to our future at the same time.
After testing and refining Tom Wegener shapes with his team of open-minded surfers, we bring you the next chapter in surfing, The Seaglass Project.
The Seaglass Project is changing the definition of what we ride, how we ride and where we will want to ride in the future. With unbelievable partners like Tom on board, we cannot imagine the doors The Seaglass Project Tunas have opened. History is in the making.
